I am an urban policy researcher working on questions related to how housing availability and affordability affect individual well-being, drive the economic development of neighborhoods, and intersect with the increasing prevalence of natural disasters. Much of my current research explores whether affordable housing programs may be filling gaps in traditional disaster assistance, and how natural disasters are reshaping housing markets and neighborhood populations.
Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of Economic Development in the Department of City and Regional Planning and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Public Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am also a research affiliate with the Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy.
I graduated with a PhD in Public Policy from New York University. Prior to starting at NYU I was a Senior Analyst at Abt Associates and earned an MS in Economics from Tufts University.
